Can I use Midjourney art in a Steam game?
Short answer: Yes. Steam accepts AI-generated art if you disclose it in the Content Survey, and Midjourney's Terms say you own the assets you create. The catch: if you are, or work for, a company with more than $1M a year in revenue, you need a Pro or Mega plan to own them. Images are public and remixable by default, and you grant Midjourney a licence to them. Midjourney isn't in our tool index, so this page is our only tracking of it.

What the official terms say
"You own all Assets You create with the Services to the fullest extent possible under applicable law."
"If you are a company or any employee of a company with more than $1,000,000 USD a year in revenue, you must be subscribed to a “Pro” or “Mega” plan to own Your Assets."
"By default, Your Content is publicly viewable and remixable."
"Your ownership of the Assets you created persists even if in subsequent months You downgrade or cancel Your membership."
"We will also include much of your disclosure on the Steam store page for your game, so customers can also understand how the game uses AI."
"In our prerelease review, we will evaluate the output of AI generated content in your game the same way we evaluate all non-AI content"

What it means for your game
- Solo devs and small studios: you own your assets, to the extent the law allows.
- Companies over $1M revenue a year: Pro or Mega plan required to own the assets.
- Public by default: others can see and remix your images unless you have Stealth mode (Pro/Mega), which Midjourney says it makes 'best efforts' to honour.
- Cancelling later: you keep ownership of assets made while subscribed.
- Steam: declare AI art in the Content Survey; Valve shows much of it on your store page and reviews it like any other content.
- Copyright: in the US, purely AI-generated images aren't protected. Your edits and arrangement can be.
